Subject Selection for Year 11 2024

Students must take English or Te Reo Māori.

Students must take a Mathematics course.

Students are strongly recommended to take a Science course. If a Science is not selected then this will be discussed.

For any queries on English/Te Reo Māori, Mathematics or Science course placement please talk to your current class teacher to determine which is the most suitable class.

Students will need to select a further three other courses that they would like to study.

A total of 6 subjects and all Students in Year 11 will all be doing 11 Hauora where a number life skills and wellbeing modules will be studied.

Students will be asked to put the subjects in order of preference (ie top choice FIRST, next choice SECOND, etc)

Students MUST plan ahead – they should consider what they are likely to study in Year 12 and Year 13 to see if these subjects have prerequisites.

When course selections are entered, some courses will not have sufficient students to run and will be removed from the profile, then the next suitable choice is used.

If a student is vetted out of a subject by Leader of Learning then they will be asked to come in to discuss this.

Once the timetable has been made students will be emailed the subjects that they are in at the end of the school year.
