English Language Learning (ELL) 'Community English' provides you with opportunities to learn English for living, working and studying in New Zealand.
Learning English will help you develop language and skills to improve your confidence, participate in your community and prepare you for a job and/or study.

Term 1
Students can spell high-frequency words, common sight words and apply more complex phonics rules and patterns. Students can write more complex sentences.
Students can communicate about their family and friends including describing character and looks.
Students can give personal information with clear pronunciation and can identify grammar patterns.
Students can read texts and identify common language features.
ELL unit standards contribute to the New Zealand Certificate in English Language (NZCEL)and NCEA (Level 1 credits - Foundation & Level 1)
