Course Overview

Term 1
Students will create 3 photo series to explore our identity, connections to community and culture. Term 2
This term we will explore moving images and redirect our focus to film making. Students will make a 1-minute short film, following the same theme and style as their photography (91913, Produce resolved artwork appropriate to established art making conventions, 5 credits).

Term 3
We will visit a marae and continue our photo series practices. (91912, Use practice-based visual inquiry to explore an Aotearoa New Zealand Māori context and another cultural context, 5 credits.)

Term 4
As a result of the three terms of artwork (photo series and filmmaking) students will produce a final body of work, informed by their practices. (91915, Create a sustained body of related artworks in response to an art making proposition, 5 credits)
