In this course you investigate influences, consequences and strategies within a range of health issues.
Course Components
- Investigate factors that influence sexuality and strategies that reflect social justice to address them
- Take action to improve well-being in school and community
- Investigate factors that impact on a person’s resilience
- Analyse an adolescent health issue
Course Overview
Term 1
Heath concepts with assessment focusing on personal, interpersonal and societal strategies to maintain the protective factors and/or minimise the risk factors that influence the ability to manage change.
Term 2
Investigate social justice and the relationship between personal, interpersonal, and societal influences, consequences and strategies to address issues related to sexuality and gender and to develop strategies for addressing the issues.
Term 3
Health promotion - identify an issue, create and implement an action plan, evaluate the process and results with the aim to enhance the wellbeing of those in school and/or wider community
Term 4
Preparation for the external exam analysing an adolescent health issue
