Course Description

Life Drawing
Tuesday Nights
Working from the human figure - Develop an understanding of the proportion of the human figure and gain experience in drawing from life. Learn about a range of dry and wet media as you draw and paint, explore artist models and create art work that shows a development of your individual style.
Course Components
- Develop your skills in 'learning to see'
- Experiment with different media (from dry to wet)
- Improve your skills in drawing the human body
- Learn about light and dark, tonal values, proportion, negative space, skin tone
- Increase your confidence in your drawing skills
- Apply your learning to the many other areas of your creative path
Recommended Prior Learning
Some drawing experience is preferable
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
A small set of Conte sticks or some good quality charcoal; ought to be purchased after a few sessions. Most other materials are provided; bring your own favourite medium if you wish.
