12 Hospitality
Here you develop the skills needed to work in the industry at an entry level, including gaining a barista qualification. You can also gain credits towards a Hospitality qualification.
Course Components
- Prepare and cook a range of foods with safe food hygiene
- Learn basic knife skills
- Evaluate your processes and products
- Train in hospitality specifics such as customer service
- Barista Training
Course Overview
Term 1
In term 1, the focus will be on developing knife and other practical cookery skills that would support an entry level into the food industry. There will be an emphasis on food safety and hygiene.
Term 2
Developing Knife skills to gain basic competency in preparing vegetables ,grilling , reflection and evaluation of own food , barista skills
Term 3
Demonstrate practical skills in frying, roasting and salads. Barista competency. reflection and evaluation of own food.
Term 4
Organising Formal Dinner for parents and whānau. Customer service.
