12 Physics

Physics is all about understanding the world around you. This course gives you a grounding for career pathways like aviation, health science and engineering. You will use mathematics skills of algebra and trigonometry to solve problems about motion, energy, forces and electrical circuits.

Course Components

  • Develop skills of data processing, drawing and interpreting graphs
  • Learn the language and symbols of physics
  • Use practical work to help understand the principles governing the universe
  • Study mechanics, electromagnetism, and atomic physics
  • A self-directed extension standard is available

Course Overview

Term 1
Learning about motion, forces and torque for the mechanics external and physics investigation internal assessment.

Term 2
Learning about energy and momentum for the mechanics external and atomic physics internal assessment.

Term 3
Learning about static electricity, circuits and electromagnetism for the electricity external.

Term 4
Revision for external exams.
