13 Maths

This course provides a grounding in a selection of topics from both the Calculus and Statistics domains. 

Course Components 

  • Statistics Domain: either time series or bivariate data 
  • Calculus Domain: a selection from linear programming, simultaneous equations, trigonometry, critical path analysis 

Course Overview

Term 1
Complete 3.2 Linear Programming - using linear inequalities to model complex situations and make recommendations.
Begin 3.15 Systems of Equations - explore solving sets of 3-variable equations using substitution and elimination methods.

Term 2
Complete 3.15 Systems of Equations.
Complete 3.3 Trigonometric Methods - modelling periodic phenomena using sine and cosine functions.

Term 3
Complete 3.9 Bivariate Data - using scattergraphs and statistics to investigate relationships between variables.
Begin 3.4 Critical Paths - using mathematics to determine the fastest way to complete projects made up of interconnected tasks.

Term 4
Complete 3.4 Critical Paths.
