13 Film Production

This course allows you to explore the artistic and technical aspects of film-making – focusing on the pre- production, production and post-production roles of producing a film product. You will You will write a screenplay, design a film, design costumes and produce your own short film product,  using digital cameras and Adobe Premiere Pro.

  • Use technology to enhance visuals and sound in editing raw film footage
  • Produce a short film product

Course Overview

Term 1
In term 1, we will begin the process of designing their own film product and will complete a design and plan 91494, Produce a design for a media product that meets the requirements of a brief, 4 credits.

Term 2
This term, students will write a screenplay for their film (91497, Write a media text to meet the requirements of a brief, 3 credits) and begin rehearsals and filming. They will also design costume concepts for four distinct characters in a film context (32366, Develop a costume design for a given work in an entertainment and event context, 5 credits).

Term 3
Students will complete their film products (91495, Produce a media product to meet the requirements of a brief, 6 credits).

Term 4
Students will engage in revision of the technology and processes of their filmmaking (Use complex techniques to develop a digital media outcome 4 credits) and complete any outstanding assessment tasks or resubmissions needed to complete the course work.
