12 Financial Life Skills

SEMESTER TWO COURSE

Financial Life Skills explores the themes of managing money and income, setting financial goals, and managing financial risk

Course Components

  • Investigating the financial life stages
  • Managing debt and KiwiSaver
  • Becoming financially secure and responsible
  • Banking products
  • Understanding employment, taxation and investment

This course is split into two semesters: students can take just one course or both.

Course Overview

Term 2
In Term 2, students will be learning how significant life events can affect their personal income at different life stages, or if they completed Semester 1, how tax relates to their personal income.

Term 3
In Term 3, students will learn how to write a budget and set a financial goal. They will also learn about various insurance products as financial risk management strategies.
